An 8-goal exhibition of pure class...
Wrexham
vs
Ipswich

Wrexham secured a vital 5-3 comeback victory against Ipswich Town on 21 February in a sensational eight-goal match and definitely one for the history books.

Re-igniting their Championship play-off hopes for Premier League promotion, the win lifted the Red Dragons to sixth place, following an thrilling match that showcased resilience and great attacking skills.
Make no doubt about it, Wrexham performed like a club gunning for promotion for a fourth time in a row - and showed no mercy to the visiting "Tractor Boys".

Wrexham surged ahead early on in the first half with Moore (6') scoring against his former club, followed by Windass (37') heading in to make it 2-1.

As we neared the end of the first half the home fans felt history was repeating itself - following last week's victory against Ipswich also home here at the Cae Ras - when we hosted and beat them in the 4th round of the FA cup.
But with sustained pressure applied the first half, Ipswich equalised just moments before half-time - frustratingly during injury time - which would have completely changed the mood for the half time talk.

As we started the second half and to the complete disbelief to the home fans, Ipswich slipped ahead with a powerful strike just two minutes after the break, undoing all the momentum Wrexham had secured only minutes before.
Undeterred, Wrexham dug deep and rallied with Thomason scoring his first club goal (66'), followed by Doyle (75') to head right in front of us from an O'Brien corner. The Wrexham Lager stand was bouncing!

Finally Broadhead, returning against his former side, sealed the win with a composed finish (86') to a jubilant home crowd.
Phil Parkinson hailed the team's "commitment, honesty and endeavour", and the performance made us believe that there is even more magic and possible fairy tale endings to come from Wrexham once again this season.

Welcome to the Racecourse and a 4 goal thriller!
Wrexham
vs
Watford

Visit Wrexham were lucky enough to be guest invites for an historic match against Watford on Saturday 13th December.

Ahead of the match we were given the famously warm welcome by the friendly staff who work at the stadium and were guided on our way to the Bamford Suite located in the famous Wrexham Lager Stand.
We saw some of the players of the team themselves who were arriving outside signing autographs for Wrexham's loyal younger fans.
Many of whom were all eagerly awaiting the arrival of famous owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac who were also spotted being in attendance following news of their new investment secured this past week in the form of Apollo Sports Capital.

Wrexham had recently enjoyed a long run of form with some 9 unbeaten matches with this only being broken by a loss away at Hull earlier in the week.
The fans were looking to the dragons to return to their consistent form of late - but little did we all know the excitement that lay in store for us that afternoon.

Ahead of the match we were thoroughly spoilt with some great Christmas fayre and some Wrexham Lagers of course, and entertained by after dinner speeches from former Wrexham players.
Watford were last hosted by Wrexham on 27th October 1979 where on that occasion Wrexham beat Watford 3-0.
Much excitement and buzz ensued about the chances of repeating against a marginally stronger Watford today, who were placed slightly above Wrexham as things currently stood.

The game started well for the dragons with Windass opening the scoring after 21 minutes to put Wrexham ahead.
Watford responded well and were rewarded with an equaliser 30 minutes in. The early conceded goal seemed to knock the confidence out of Wrexham with a tight fought end of the first half with some supporters taking an early exit to the bars to reflect on the performance.
After the break, the dragons struggled to settle down and control the Watford Hornets, and frustrations set in further when a mad scramble on the Watford goal end seemed to be a Wrexham goal one second, only for it to be disallowed moments later for offside. The pain for Wrexham fans was palpable and the visiting fans knew it.

But following a highly anticipated substitution by Wrexham Manager meant Olly Rathbone came on for the first time this season, and his appearance transformed the game in seconds. Rathbone scored almost immediately to make it a well deserved equaliser.
A thrilling match ending in 2-2 and another valuable point for the hosts. Wrexham proving its worth and place in the Championship is truly well deserved.
