Howden has moved in and become our brand-new neighbours here in the Foundry, officially launching their North Wales commercial presence in Wrexham, marking a significant expansion of its Welsh footprint.
We met Nathan Brookfield, to find out a little about their plans to help and support businesses here in Wrexham.
Nathan is Howden's local account executive and part of a tight knit team based here in the Foundry, located in the same building as Visit Wrexham.

Nathan is from Wrexham originally, and after an extensive career has now returned home to settle with his young family in nearby Johnstown. Nathan has always been a big fan of Wrexham, and passionately believes in supporting our local community and partners such as Nightingale House Hospice. Outside of work, he is currently studying for a master’s in counselling and volunteers with students at the local college when time allows.

Very casually, over a coffee he let us know he is playing in the Nightingale Hospice FC team this September against Wrexham Legends. Playing alongside other talented players, including players drawn from major local businesses such as JCB, Ivor Williams and The Uncommon Accountants, the team will have their work cut out when they play their inaugural charity match against some of Wrexham’s finest former players – albeit with them somewhat a little more experienced and seasoned.

The match will be taking place on Friday 4th September with friends, families and colleagues attending to cheer on the team. And whilst not at The Racecourse itself, it will only be only a stone’s throw away at the nearby Lex Stansty Park ground, located around half a mile north.
Aiming to raise £500 personally for the event, matched by Howden, Nathan and the rest of the team are raising awareness and valuable funds for one of Wrexham’s most beloved and respected local charities, Nightingale House Hospice.

The players drawn for this match are being kept a closely guarded secret, but we do know that Stephen Watkin will be playing, a former striker for both Wrexham AFC and his international career with Wales. He is most famous for scoring the winning goal in Wrexham's historic 2–1 FA Cup victory over reigning champions Arsenal in 1992. Afterwards Neil ‘Robbo’ Roberts, also formerly of Wrexham AFC, will be helping to refresh both the teams over at Vault 33, around the corner from us. They obviously think it’s in the bag!
