For one night only - the talented team behind Wrexham's special year long festival - Year of Wonder - performed at the Grove Park Theatre - also celebrating their 100th anniversary.

Taking us back in time for one night only. A special program of comedy, song, poems, and a lot of fun.

The talented team behind this years' sepcial festival - The Wrexham Year of Wonder - celebrating all the wonderful things that happened right here exactly 150 years ago this year, finalised their year long calendar of events with something memorable themselves - an Old Time Music Hall.

Roll Up!
Roll Up!

Dave McCall first mentioned this special concept earlier in the summer to us, and between the team of volunteers, they all carved up roles and started rehearsing performances for something memorable.

A free to attend event, the team also chose to host their special performance at the Grove Park Theatre, who they themselves are celebrating 100 years of theatre here in Wrexham.

The
Troupe

Familiar faces to many, with many performers featured here on Visit Wrexham, the long list of special performers came from right across Wrexham's creative sector.

We were treated to fine performances from the very talented Ade Garratt, Dylan Hughes, Petra Goodband, Jacqui Blore, Dave McCall, Monika Evans, Phil Bettinson, Natasha Borton, Madeleine Dale, and Emily Ashworth.

Special
Highlights

"Myfanwy" performed by Natasha Borton (Vesta Voicebox) moved the whole house, delivering a powerful and emotional performance.

Balanced with spontaneous comical moments, double entendres and improvised comedy, all bringing the house down on many occasions.

A fitting tribute to the era, the couple sitting behind us said to us at the end;

"We loved that. We hadn't seen anything like it in 60 years!"

Fitting
Tributes

This was a wonderful event and a warm-hearted community Sunday night of entertainment for all.

The team bowed one last time at the end, thanked each other for their peformances and their unwavering support across the year, making this a great moment of recognition for their annual festival.

There was a fond farewell to Petra Goodband at the very end who moves on from Wrexham and her work at nearby St Giles' and was presented with flowers and appreciation of the work she has done for the whole Wrexham community.
