Visit Wrexham - Marcher Vibe Radio - Feel Good Radio For Wrexham

Marching ahead online to take on the world, we meet local broadcaster Dave Lee.

We love working with family-owned businesses and owner managed set ups based here in Wrexham. Through our work with guest Visit Wrexham writer Vicky Heathfield, based over at Essentials MAG, we got to meet up with her brother, Dave Lee. Dave is already a familiar household name based in Wrexham, having been a leading local broadcaster for over two decades.

Business founder and familiar local household name to Wrexham.

Dave
Lee

A self-made serial entrepreneur – but he made a point of saying he isn’t one – Dave has nevertheless built successful businesses before and spent time sharing with us in the Visit Wrexham offices his career to date, and what it’s been like for him to succeed and live in Wrexham, having originally come up here from London many decades ago.

Life On
The Buses

We’ve been a customer of Dave’s in the past, when he used to own and run Routemaster4hire which was a fleet of 5 classic London Double Deckers, which was based in nearby Llay. We also know Dave Ledward who runs North Wales Social when they organised a networking event for local Wrexham based businesses a few years back. We all had a great time on the top deck – taking us back to our old heady school days whilst Dave Lee took the helm below, and whisked us through the hills surrounding Wrexham at speeds up to and exceeding 40 mph!

A Return
Ticket
To Radio

After running a fleet of 60-year-old buses and delivering countless brides and grooms to weddings nerve rackingly just about on time, Dave eventually sold the Routemaster4hire business a few years back and the buses finally made their long return journeys back to their home stomping grounds of old London town.
Dave shared that whilst retirement was beckoning, he admitted there was still a lot of life left in the old dog yet. So, in early 2026, Lee launched Marcher Vibe Radio, a new radio station built on a simple promise: great music and real local connection.

Making a comeback

Dave, a legend from the old Marcher Sound and MFM days, didn’t just want to make noise; he wanted to make history for his community. The station officially hit DAB digital radio on May 5, 2026, but fans had been tuning in since its online debut in January. It’s a massive comeback for a man who admits he missed that morning connection with listeners more than anything else.

His target? A crowd aged 35 to 54 across Wrexham, Chester, Liverpool, and North Wales.

Passion
You Can
Hear

The playlist is a vibrant mix of classic 80’s hits blended with today’s chart toppers. Dave himself hosts the weekday Breakfast Show from 7 am to 10 am, bringing that familiar energy back to the region.
While the name "Marcher" nods to the historic radio group he once helped define, this venture is distinctly his own. It’s a modern, music-focused project available on DAB, smart speakers like Alexa, and a dedicated app for iOS and Android. Dave’s vision is clear: a feel-good station for the people who have stayed by his side for decades. It’s not just a return to broadcasting; it’s a celebration of Wrexham’s spirit, proving that local radio still has a heartbeat. We really enjoyed our meeting and getting to know each other. It's great to have you on board Visit Wrexham Dave!

We’d encourage you to listen to the station using our embedded player, which is live on air. Or if you prefer using Alexa, simply say “Play Marcher Radio” and if you are interested in getting your business on air, Marcher Vibe have a talented team on hand who can professionally record your message and help you get your message out to potentially 2.8 million listeners across Wrexham, Chester, North Wales and as a far afield as Liverpool.
