Enriching lives through Nature.
Erlas
Victorian
Walled
Garden.
Nestled on the outskirts of Wrexham, Erlas Victorian Walled Garden is far more than a beautiful green space. Behind the historic walls, a dedicated team of staff, volunteers, and beneficiaries work together to create an environment where people can develop confidence, learn new skills, improve wellbeing, and build meaningful friendships.

A registered charity
Erlas Victorian Walled Garden is a registered charity that provides daytime opportunities for adults with additional learning needs, acquired brain injuries, mental health challenges, and a wide range of other support needs. They believe that every individual has strengths and abilities to contribute, and strive to create opportunities that are both meaningful and enjoyable.

Personal
Development
The garden itself provides the perfect setting for this work. Beneficiaries can become involved in horticulture, gardening, growing fruit and vegetables, conservation projects, wildlife activities, site maintenance, craft work, and seasonal projects throughout the year. The focus is not simply on completing tasks, but on helping people develop practical skills, confidence, independence, and a sense of achievement.
Community
Resource
Alongside supporting their beneficiaries, Erlas is also a valued community resource. Visitors are welcome to explore the gardens, enjoy the peaceful surroundings, and attend a variety of events, workshops, and activities held throughout the year. Their volunteers play a vital role in maintaining and developing the site, generously contributing their time, knowledge, and enthusiasm to support the charity's work.
National
Recognition
The dedication of everyone involved has recently been recognised on a national stage. Erlas Victorian Walled Garden was honoured and received the Royal Horticultural Society's Community Award, recognising the positive impact the garden has within the local community and the opportunities it provides for people to connect with nature, learn new skills, and improve their wellbeing.
"As the garden continues to grow and develop, our mission remains unchanged: to provide a welcoming, supportive environment where people can flourish."
